HOOD RIVER — Hood River Valley’s senior sharpshooter Julia Rowan was recently honored by the Northwest Oregon Conference coaches, who selected her to the 2024-25 girls basketball all-league first team.
Rowan’s deep 3-point shooting range made her a constant offensive threat during the Eagles’ season. The three-sport athlete led Coach Steve Noteboom’s HRV team in scoring, as it finished the season with a 13-11 overall record and a 7-7 mark in the NWOC.
Rowan, a co-captain, averaged 15 points, six rebounds and more than two steals a game for HRV. Noteboom said the team relied on Rowan for her basketball abilities and her leadership skills.
Rowan’s senior teammate, Sarah Mason, along with Eagle junior guard Bella Howe, were honorable mention selections to the all-league team.
Wilsonville’s Gabi Moultrie and Ava Bergeson of La Salle Prep were co-players of the year.
Poole earns first-team award
Hood River Valley senior Zak Poole was selected by coaches to the first-team all-league for his play this past season in Northwest Oregon Conference boys basketball.
Poole led HRV to a 12-12 overall record, 7-9 in the NWOC, under head Coach Christopher Dirks.
Teammates Matthew Fauth, a senior, and sophomore guard JJ Poole, were honorable-mention all-league picks. They helped HRV finish in a tie for sixth place in the conference for the 2024-25 season.
Cole Hammack of regular-season champion Wilsonville, and Jaxon Lawson of Canby were co-players of the year in the NWOC.
