CHOIR FESTIVAL: The 6th annual Columbia Gorge Elementary Choir Festival is 6:30 p.m. at The Fort Dalles Readiness Center in The Dalles. This year, seven elementary schools are combining to make music for the evening.
TOWN HALL: The Wasco County Board of Commissioners will hold a town hall in Maupin 5:30 p.m., in the Maupin CIty Park Community Building, 208 Bakeoven Rd. Maupin City Council meeting follows at 6:30 p.m.
KIWANIS PROGRAMS: Kiwanis meetings are held every Thursday at noon at Spooky’s and visitors are welcome. This week’s events include: Dr. Marta Yera Cronin, president of Columbia Gorge Community College. For more information go to www.thedalleskiwanis.org/.

LIBRARY EVENT: A fun program for elementary-age children takes place 3:30 to 5 p.m. in the John and Jean Thomas Children’s Wing at The Dalles-Wasco County Library. May 24 is tech gadgets and participants are invited to come play with “Code-a-Pillars” and “BeeBots.”

JAZZ FESTIVAL: The Granada Theatre’s first-ever jazz festival, featuring artists including Tom Grant and the Tom Grant Band, Tamir Hendleman, Cherry Blossom Big Band, Gina Williams, and Benny Goodman’s Carnegie Hall Concert. 7 p.m. at the Granada Theatre in The Dalles.
NUNSENSE MEGA-MUSICAL: “Nunsense: The Mega-Musical,” a “musical comedy” presented by Plays for Non-Profits, starts 7:30 p.m. at the Columbia Center for the Arts, 214 Cascade Avenue, Hood River. Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for seniors/students, available at Waucoma Books, Klindt’s Bookstore or www.showtix4u.com; proceeds benefit The Next Door, Inc. (Hood River and Wasco counties.)

TABLETOP GAMING: The library game club meets to play tabletop miniature games on the last Sunday of the month in the meeting room at The Dalles-Wasco County Public Library. This meeting is at noon. WASCO MEMORIAL: Wasco Memorial Day Country Breakfast, sponsored by ABC Huskies Child Care is from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. at North Sherman Rural Fire Hall, 411 Yates Street, in Wasco. The menu includes ham, eggs, hotcakes and choice of drink. Proceeds will be dedicated to operational costs at the child care site. ABC Huskies is governed by the Sherman County Child Care Foundation, a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization, providing quality, state certified child care services and a preschool program.
