Henry Egert-Papac, 6, gets ready to take part in the Solstice Walk at Rheingarten Park in White Salmon on Dec. 21, as do Bill Whidden, left, Art Brunson, Heather Widden and Linda Brunson. The event has been held every year for the past eight years. Organizers said they started the walk as a way to build community, to get people together during the holidays and to have people slow down and take a break during the busy holiday season.
