Howdy is about a year old, and probably a Cattle dog mix, and 40 pounds. He used to fancy himself a bit of a lone star, a wanderer, and a boy who could take care of himself. He and his brother lived out there in the great wild lands of some orchard fields, needin’ nothin’ and answering to nobody. Until he was lured into the arms of a loving caretaker with some bacon!
He was brought to our shelter and given a warm bed and plenty of food and good lovin’! Then Howdy’s like, “I love you! I want to be with you always! Where’s more bacon?!” Howdy is now a lover boy looking for someone to call his own. No more wild ways and searching for grub or pears. He’s come to love life in the big city of Hood River, and he’s happy!
Belly rubs and cozy beds are his new focus. Howdy does very well with other dogs, and they actually helped him to come out of his shell and show him life ain’t so bad with some gentle folk taking charge! Howdy is still working on basic commands, but is a nice, nice dog!
Howdy is current on shots, microchipped and neutered. The adoption fee for Howdy is $185. The fee to adopt is charged to recoup standard veterinary expenses.
