Sherman County resident and metal artist Keith Blaylock is the Sherman County Historical Museum’s featured artist for September.
Blaylock was born and raised in Moro, and graduated from Sherman County High School. He has been farming on the family farm, which he now enjoys with his son.
Farming teaches many skills and working with metal became an artistic as well as practical skill for Blaylock.
Over the years he has enjoyed working with metal and developed a style of art that, often drawing inspiration and metal from pieces picked out of his own metal scrap pile.
He enjoys making all sorts of items out of metal, from cactus and palm trees to wall hanging landscapes and fish.
He gives many of his creations to family and friends.
He prefers making original designs that are unique and feature things he enjoys.
There is no charge for this exhibit, which is on display at the museum through September.
The award-winning museum, 200 Dewey Street in Moro, is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily through Oct. 31.
