Building a swimming hole in the canyon below the ballpark was started Tuesday evening by volunteer workers who are interested in providing local boys with a good safe place to swim. A dam thirty feet long and four feet high is being thrown up across Jewett creek and it is estimated it will back up the water about one hundred feet, the deepest place to be about four feet. — White Salmon Enterprise, May 30, 1924
