Hood River County Reads kicked off its 17th season on March 4 with a book distribution event at the Hood River Library. This year’s book is “rough house” by local author Tina Ontiveros.
Hood River County Reads kicked off its 17th season on March 4 with a book distribution event at the Hood River Library. Copies of "rough house" are now available at all three library locations (Hood River, Parkdale and Cascade Locks) as well as the library bookmobile, which stops at Odell Community Park each Saturday from 12:30-1:30 p.m.

The kickoff event also featured winning posters created by HRVHS students, seen on either side of Withers, which will be published in an upcoming issue. Upcoming events include a youth collage project on Saturday, March 25 from 10:30 a.m. to noon at the Hood River Library meeting room; “What does home mean to me,” led by artist Courtney Richards. On Saturday, April 1, Will Hornyak leads a storytelling workshop, “Bringing our stories to life,” at the Hood River Library from 10 a.m. to noon. Sign up is required at 541-386-2535.
