‘Annie Girl’ at River City Sept. 30

Cripple Hop plans pre-Hops Fest show Sept. 26
Cripple Hop is a band that doesn’t like to be put into a box. Originally influenced by bluegrass rhythm, their music has evolved to fuse the genres of bluegrass, funk, rock and roll and reggae, with sets that move in and out of originals into unique covers.” The band is excited to kick off the Hops Fest weekend at The River City Saloon on Friday, Sept. 26, 9 p.m. and it’s going to be a big show. The regular four-piece line-up will be joined by Marge Gale on vocals, Jesse King on banjo, Dom Degiovanni on drums and Seth Mehr rapping on the mic. ‘Full Monty’ auditions Oct. 4-5
CAST Theater and Columbia Center for the Arts are holding auditions for “The Full Monty” directed by Bruce Ludwig.
Auditions start at 2 p.m. on Oct. 4 and 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 5 at Columbia Center for the Arts, 215 Cascade Ave. Call backs, if necessary, will be on Oct. 8 at 6:30 p.m.
Several roles are to be cast for both men and women of various ages. There is one 14-18 male role. The Full Monty will open on Feb. 13 and run for 3 weeks.
Prepare at least 1 minute of a contemporary musical theatre song or a popular song for the audition. There will be an accompanist available for one of these dates. You must bring sheet music in your key. A CD with an accompaniment-only track is also acceptable, provided it is edited and cued correctly. No a cappella or self-accompaniment, please.
In addition to the vocal auditions, there will be cold readings from the script. Sides will be available at the Art Center after Sept. 21.

Hearts of Oak is the songwriting project of Nate Wallace. Influenced by his songwriting father, Nate moved to San Francisco as a teen, and later to Portland, where he learned the guitar and started writing songs for The RCMP, a group of songwriter friends.
