Rick Hulett at The Pines
Local favorite Rick Hulett brings his guitar back to The Pines for another evening of great music on Thursday, Oct. 17, from 7-9 p.m. Next week, Thurs. Oct. 24, Oregon native John Bunzow returns to The Pines. He plays everything from country rock to reggae and has been called one of the finest roots writers-musicians on the current music scene. Sinfonietta plays Oct. 18, 20
The Columbia Gorge Sinfonietta kicks off its 2013-2014 season with an exciting program of beloved classics that are perfect for both kids and adults. The concert includes one of the most beloved introductions to classical music ever written, “Peter and the Wolf,” plus the evocative “Pictures at an Exhibition” and “Procession of the Nobles.”
The concerts are Friday, Oct. 18 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 20 at 3:30 p.m. at the Wy’east Middle School Performing Arts Center. There is a suggested donation of $10.

Halloween concert Oct. 26
It’s an all-ages family Halloween dress-up event at Westside Elementary School auditorium on Saturday, Oct. 26, from 6:30-9 p.m. Dance to the rock and roll sounds of Hit Machine, a five-piece party band playing all the hits from yesterday and today. Peter Fletcher plays Oct. 30
Acclaimed New York City classical guitarist Peter Fletcher is making a stop on his fall tour at the Hood River County Library on Wednesday, Oct. 30, at 7 p.m. A recording artist for Centaur Records, Fletcher transcribed the music of composer Edvard Grieg (1843-1907) for his latest CD release. Friday, Oct. 18: Denver w/ Barna Howard 9:30 p.m. – Ramshackle All-Star Country Band
This “Ramshackle All-Star Country Band” fashions itself a sort of modern-day Highwaymen. Denver’s co-founders and chief songwriters Birger Olsen, Mike Elias and Tom Bevitori (Alela Diane’s Wild Divine) exchange lead vocals, swaying drunkenly between dusty saloons and that lonesome country air. The band has since filled out its line-up with a stellar supporting cast, which includes Blitzen Trapper’s Eric Earley and Michael Van Pelt, drummer Sean MacNeil, and a rotating crew of Portland’s finest.
Saturday, Oct. 19: Quick & Easy Boys 9:30 p.m. – Rock & Roll
The Quick & Easy Boys, a power-trio out of Portland, create their own blend of rock and roll. Imagine the Minutemen, Band of Gypsies and the Police rolled into one.
