The site is located at 521 East Jewett Blvd., White Salmon, and currently operates as a wholesale bakery but does not serve as a public retail storefront.
The location has documented contamination in the soil since 1989, when gasoline-contaminated water was observed seeping into the trailer park located directly downgradient of the site.
Cleanup occurred in two phases in 1994 and 1996. The first phase included removal of the underground storage tanks and petroleum contaminated soils. In 1996, the second phase of cleanup removed four underground storage tanks and most of the associated piping from the hillside across Jewett Boulevard.
According to Ecology, “Based on the 2020 periodic review, the cleanup actions completed at the site are protective of human health and the environment.”
