THE GORGE — As of press deadline on Monday, voter turnout in the Nov. 4 General Election in Klickitat County was 37.75% and over 99% of the ballots have been counted. Below are preliminary results; election certification is on Nov. 25.
• City of Bingen, Mayor: Kelsey Ramsey, 104 votes, or 67.97%; Clinton L. Deo, 49 votes, or 32.03%; no write-ins.
• City of Bingen Council position 4: Eric Schroder, 87 votes, or 63.04%; Maya Deo, 51 votes, or 36.96%; no write-ins.
• City of Bingen Council position 5: Erika Almskaar, 92 votes, or 61.33%; Quinton Deo, 58 votes, or 38.67%; no write-ins.
• Centerville Fire District 5 Position 3: Brent Cameron, 125 votes, or 74.4%; Michael Macy, 43 votes, or 25.6%.
• Lyle School District 406 School Board Position 2: Jessica Smith, 691 votes, or 65.94%; Erin Hartford, 348 votes, or 33.21%; write-in, 9 votes.
• Goldendale Municipal Proposition No. 1: Approved, 321 votes, or 53.77%; rejected, 276 votes, or 46.23%.
Note: The City of Goldendale asked voters to approve a local public safety sales tax to help pay for police and fire services.
• White Salmon Valley Pool Metro Park District Annex Proposition No. 1: Against annexation to metropolitan park district, 473 votes, or 82.84%; for annexation, 98 votes, or 17.16%.
Note: This measure asked voters in the Trout Lake area (School District R-400) whether to annex into the White Salmon Valley Pool Metropolitan Park District (WSVPMPD).
In Skamania County, voter turnout was 35.34% and there’s an estimated 20 ballots left to count.
• City of Stevenson Mayor: Jenny Collins Taylor, 513 votes, or 75.11%; Scott Anderson, 169 votes, or 24.74%; write-in, 1 vote.
• City of Stevenson Council Position 1: Tina Van Pelt, 503 votes, or 77.85%; Xochil Springer, 167 votes, or 24.85%; Write-in, 2 votes.
• City of Stevenson Council Position 2: Erin Theresa Minnis, 386 votes, or 57.36%; Jeff Breckel, 286 votes, or 42.5%; no write-ins.
• Skamania County Cemetery District Proposition No. 1: Rejected, 2,093 votes, or 66.98%; approved, 1,032 votes, or 33.02%.
Note: This would have established a new regular levy rate to maintain and adequately fund district operations and proactively plan for increasing needs and service demands of communities served by the district.
