HOOD RIVER — Families in the Columbia River Gorge region now have a centralized resource for discovering youth-focused activities, events, and services with the launch of Gorge Youth on April 8.
The Gorge Youth website connects parents and caregivers to programs and opportunities for kids of all ages throughout the Gorge. Founded by local parent and community advocate Debbie Dennis, Gorge Youth was created out of her personal struggle to find information for her children’s activities.
“I kept asking myself, why isn’t there one place where all this information lives?” Dennis said. “I wanted to make it easier for families to access activities, programs, and events — whether you’re searching for an art class, a soccer league, or a dentist for your kids. Gorge Youth was built to help parents, caregivers, and businesses connect and thrive together.”
Gorge Youth offers:
Directory of Programs – A curated list of local services, from sports leagues to educational workshops.
Event Calendar – A regularly updated schedule of upcoming family events and youth activities.
Resource Blog – Articles on parenting, youth development and local stories relevant to Gorge families.
Gorge Youth encourages collaboration and community input to help the platform grow. Local organizations and service providers are invited to submit their information for inclusion on the site. Inquiries can be directed to debbie@gorgeyouth.com. For more information, visit www.gorgeyouth.com.
