WASCO CO. — Current Queen Audriyona Gilbert of Warm Springs passed her ambassador duties on to incoming Queen Alli Waine of Juniper Flats to promote and represent The Wasco County Fair & Rodeo throughout the year of 2025.
On March 15, The Imperial River Company in Maupin provided a gathering place for the annual Wasco County Fair & Rodeo Queen Coronation. Upon arriving, guests signed in and were provided a ticket to enjoy a BBQ dinner catered by Faith Lindley. Multiple tables in the lobby displayed many items and services donated by individuals and businesses who supported the silent auction. Following dinner the live auction was conducted by auctioneer Joe Oaks. After the auction, the band Smock Dogs kept the mood lively and flowing through the evening.
A thank you to the fair board members in attendance: Vicki Ashley and Butch David; queen coordinator DeeAnn DePaepe, and all who served in various support roles as well as The Imperial River Company for providing the perfect setting and welcoming atmosphere.
The entire festivities could not have been accomplished without the support of Alli’s family, three of whom have served as past court royalty: Mother Julie Waine, Aunt Stephanie Morales and cousin Serron Martinez. Technical support by Alli’s Dad, Mike Waine, who served as banker, time keeper, and more.
We encourage all to watch for rodeos, parades and public service announcements for the events that Allie will be attending and wish her the very best as she represents the Wasco County Fair & Rodeo throughout the year 2025.
