Noah Noteboom photoTHE DALLES — The Dalles Area Chamber of Commerce is rallying the community to support youth agriculture by organizing a Chamber Pool for the upcoming Wasco County Fair Youth Livestock Auction.
This tradition brings together individuals and businesses to donate what they an, whether $25 or $250, to collectively support hardworking 4-H and FFA youth who have dedicated countless hours to raising and preparing livestock for auction, said a press release.
The auction will be held on Saturday, Aug. 16 beginning at 3 p.m. at the Jack Alsup Arena, Wasco County Fairgrounds, Tygh Valley.
Contribute to the Chamber Pool by stopping by the chamber office, calling 541-296-2231, or emailing events@thedalleschamber.com by noon on Aug. 13. Payment can be in the form of checks, credit cards, and cash.
“Every contribution — big or small — makes an impact,” said Lisa Farquharson, president/CEO of The Dalles Area Chamber of Commerce. “Together, we can raise prices, boost recognition for our youth, and even purchase champion animals to show our community’s support.”
