During the July 18 board meeting of the White Salmon Valley School District, Nancy Richardson, office manager for the district, addressed the board with a request to move the board's typical meeting date from the third Wednesday of each month to the fourth Thursday of each month.
Richardson explained that the administrative office staff desired to have meetings closer to the end of the month so that the meetings could "accommodate more aspects of invoicing, budget and payroll."
Board members seemed to like the idea and agreed that the fourth Thursday would work better for them as well. Director Kris Kreps moved to hold board meetings henceforth on the fourth Thursday of each month, starting in August 2012. The only exception was the November meeting, which will be moved to the fifth Thursday of the month (Nov. 29), so as not to conflict with Thanksgiving. Director Dave Karlson seconded the unanimously supported motion.
Although the meeting dates have changed, the traditional meeting time of 7 p.m. remains the same. The WSVSD released the following meeting dates for the next year (again, all dates are on Thursdays):
