CAST will hold a workshop on Jan. 3, at 6:30 p.m. in the Theater at the Columbia Center for the Arts.
The script for "The Blind Princess," an original musical fairy tale written and composed by Bill Weiler of Lyle, will be read aloud by those participating in the workshop.
CAST is considering the play/musical as a future production.
Originally conceived as cartoon film script by Weiler, consideration of the story as a theatrical presentation requires that some original ideas need to be re-thought for presentation on a stage with live actors.
An initial workshop held last September resulted in participants making many thoughtful suggestions. A revised script will be used in the upcoming workshop.
At least 15 people are needed to read the various parts. Anyone is welcome to participate in the workshop -- no previous theatrical experience is necessary.
If the idea of reading aloud in a group doesn't strike your fancy, come anyway and bring your children to listen to the play. CAST is interested in getting people's reaction to the story to help in the ongoing development of the show.
There is no charge for the workshop.
