Co-valedictorians Matthew Dearden and Adam Paxson and 13 other members of Trout Lake High School's graduating class of 2005 received $360,950 in merit-based scholarships and awards to help pay for their continuing education.
Commencement for the class of 17 seniors took place last Friday, June 17, in the school's gymnasium.
Doug Dearden, the school's superintendent and principal, noted, "This was an outstanding group of young people that worked hard throughout their 13 years in our school system."
He added: "As a group they pushed each other to be the best. Obviously, the fine awards and scholarships received recognized their efforts."
