Did you lose anything in the high winds last week? We know of those who lost roofing, etc. I (Barbara) lost at least 20 feet of a tall fir tree that was well over 100 years old. Lucky for me it fell on the other side of my road and not on it or in my yard. Yes, it's true a falling tree makes a noise even if you don't see it.
The community is saddened by the death of Al Gerulf. If you ever partook of the lunches or breakfasts at the Lion's Club then you knew Al. He gave many many hours volunteering for the Lions and he will be missed. Condolences go out to his family and friends.
The Lady Sundowners met this past week at Cousin's Restaurant for the monthly luncheon. Nine ladies were present. Largest number in a long while. Sixteen members of the regular club met at Ixtapa's Restaurant for January's get-together. A whole month's catching up to do at least for the men. Next meeting will find them gathered around a table at the China Gorge in Hood River. They are all looking forward to March's meeting, which will be back in their RVs for the first camp-out of the year at Lewis and Clark RV Park in North Bonneville.
The tongue must be heavy indeed, because so few people can hold it.
