Trico Division opponents Ridgefield and Woodland swept double-headers from Columbia High last week.
The four losses dropped the Bruins to 0-4 in Trico play and 1-7 overall.
Columbia lost to Ridgefield, 6-1 in seven innings and 18-3 in five innings, April 11 in Ridgefield.
Junior Ashley Poole had the Bruins' only hit in game one and scored their single run. Both came in CHS's sixth at-bat.
Freshman Rachel Connolly reached base and got into scoring position two times--she walked twice and stole a team-high two bases.
Sophomore pitcher Jennifer Bryan took the loss, giving up nine hits and seven walks in six innings. Five of the six runs she allowed were earned.
Ridgefield scored two of its runs in the bottom of the first but was shut out by Bryan and the CHS defense in the second and third frames.
The Spudders (2-0, 3-2) added single runs in the fourth and fifth, however, to extend their lead to 4-0. They pushed two more runs across in the sixth to make it 6-1.
In game two, the Bruins left the bases loaded in the bottom of the first inning after tying the score at 1-all.
Ridgefield took it from there, delivering four runs each in the second and third innings. The Spudders finished by outscoring the Bruins, 10-2, in the fourth and fifth.
Sophomore Lacey Delehant paced CHS's five-hit attack, going 2 for 2 with one run batted in.
Anna Sheridan powered Ridgefield's 17-hit assault, socking two home runs and a double, and driving in five runs.
For CHS, senior Dani Gilderhus, junior Ashley Poole (run, two SBs) and sophomore Kristie Morris (run, SB) each collected one hit. Sophomore Monica Blackmer also scored for CHS.
Woodland 18-15, Columbia High 2-0:
The Beavers (2-0, 6-2) pounded out a pair of five-inning victories here last Thursday.
The Bruins never led in either game. They spotted Woodland seven runs in the top of the first in game one and trailed game two, 8-0, after two innings.
Jennifer Bryan doubled and Lacey Delehant had two hits for the Bruins in game one.
Lyle 12-4, at Mabton 9-9:
The Cougars improved to 2-4 in Greater Columbia B League play and 3-9 overall with a double-header split last Friday.
Lyle broke a 4-4 tie with an eight-run outburst in the third inning, then held on behind the pitching of freshman Kristen Stanovich.
Stanovich allowed just five hits, but walks and five Lyle errors enabled Mabton to hang around.
The Cougars tallied eight hits and took advantage of seven Vikings errors in earning their second GCB victory.
Jessica Struck and Raquel Rappe each had two hits and one run batted in for Lyle. Kara Woosley drove in two runs and Shelly Stanovich and Kiera Murphy each knocked in one.
Lyle trailed from the outset of game two, falling behind, 4-0, at the end of one inning.
Walks again played a big part in Mabton's success at the plate. The Vikings had just three hits, but they made the most of them.
Lyle finished with four hits, including RBI basehits by Struck and Murphy.
At Sunnyside Christian 10-4, Lyle 0-1:
The Cougars were no-hit in game one of the April 11 GCB double-header and produced just four hits in the second.
Kara Woosley went 2 for 3 for the Cougars in game two. Jessica Cochenour and Kristen Stanovich had Lyle's other two hits.
