Klickitat and Lyle each posted their first Greater Columbia B League victories last weekend.
The Vandals (1-1 in GCB, 6-3 overall) put together their best offensive game of the season last Friday in beating Yakama Tribal, 71-48, in Toppenish.
Lyle (1-2, 3-7) got its win on Saturday against Trout Lake-Glenwood. The Cougars edged TLG, 24-22, in Trout Lake.
Lyle 24, at Trout Lake-Glenwood 22 --
Jessica Struck had 12 rebounds and seven points as the Cougars ended a seven-game losing streak with the come-from-behind victory over TLG.
Struck hit a 3-point basket early in the fourth quarter that tied the game at 16-all, "then converted some very important free throws to put us up by five [24-19] with a little over two minutes to play," Cougars Coach Chris Barthlow said.
Ashley Brasuell scored a game-high 11 points for TLG, which held a 15-13 advantage after three quarters but made just 1-of-6 free throws in the final frame.
Lyle secured the win by sinking 8 of 18 from the foul line down the stretch.
"This was one of those games that could have been won by either team," Barthlow noted. "They both played hard for the whole game."
