After serving New Beginnnings Church (NewBC) for nearly 10 years, Pastor Ken and Cheryl Rieper have accepted the senior pastor position at Wellspring Church in Chehalis.
They announced their resignation at New BC this past Sunday and their final Sunday as pastors of NewBC will be Nov. 21.
Their installation as senior pastors in Chehalis will be on Nov. 28.
Since they arrived in White Salmon on March 11, 2001 they have thoroughly enjoyed living in and serving this community.
Pastor Rieper has been involved in coaching youth soccer as well as youth basketball while here. A familiar face on the basketball court, he has been a part of the Columbia Gorge Officials Association for the past seven years as a referee, calling all levels of interscholastic basketball. Mrs. Rieper has also been involved in the community in a number of areas.
The Riepers want to express their heart-felt gratitude and appreciation to the great friends and acquaintences they have enjoyed during their time here, many of whom have become like family to them.
There will be a farewell reception for the Riepers at New Beginnings Church on Sunday, Nov. 21, at 2 p.m. The invitation is open to the community. Cake and refreshments will be served.
