BETTY WALKER
72-year-old White Salmon resident Betty Lee Walker died at her home on Saturday, Oct. 19, 2002.
She was born on Sept. 18, 1930, in Charleston, W.V., to Dolly (Snodgrass) and Charles Shultz. In the late 1950s, She moved to White Salmon and for 35 years, she worked at Underwood Fruit as a fruit packer.
Mrs. Walker was content in her home, where she happily read her Bible and watched television. She loved to get outside and work in her yard and had a fondness for animals. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were all very special to her. She loved them very much.
Surviving Ms. Walker are her son Chuck Walker, White Salmon; daughters Sue Beckwith, Underwood, and Kathy Jeter, White Salmon; grandchildren Lisa Schroder, Henderson, Nev., Tara Fletcher, Odell, Ore., Betty Jeter, Bridget Jeter and Daniel Walker, all of White Salmon, and Charles Walker Jr., of Mill City, Ore.; great-grandchildren Brandi and Tanner Fletcher, Odell, and Ryan Schroder, Henderson, Nev.; sisters Alice, Dallesport, and Sudie of West Virginia; and brothers Daniel and Charles of West Virginia. She was preceded in death by sisters Mary, Reba and Vondi.
A graveside service was held on Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2002, at 1 p.m. at White Salmon Cemetery.
LINDA CHAVEZ
Linda Jean Chavez was born on Jan. 24, 1956. She died on Oct. 19, 2002, in Vancouver.
She is survived by three children: Mona Nordman, Chana Chavez and Vicki Chavez; two grandchildren Kari Larson and Issac Wang; and many friends.
Services will be held at Mt. Adams Eagles on Friday, Oct. 25, 2002, at 10 a.m. It will be a potluck.
WILLIS TEBBS
On Oct. 10, 2002, Willis L. Tebbs died at his home in Portland, Ore.. He was 63.
He was born in Goldendale, on March 22, 1939, to Anna L. (Thomson) and Cedric M. Tebbs. In 1960, Mr. Tebbs married Judy Ingram and in 1973 the couple moved to Portland where they made their home.
Mr. Tebbs was a member of the Church of Christ. He earned two master's degrees and worked as a professor of mathematics, teaching at Cascade College and Warner Pacific College before retiring in 2000.
Mr. Tebbs is survived by his wife, Judy Tebbs, Portland; daughter Sarah Tebbs, Portland; sister Shirlie Verley, Chehalis; and brother Don Tebbs of Granite Bay, Calif.
Burial was private at the White Salmon Cemetery. A memorial service for Mr. Tebbs was held at 2:30 p.m. on Sat., Oct. 19, 2002, at Lincoln Memorial Park Funeral Home in Portland.

CAROL KOCH
A graveside service for Carol Joanne Koch, 67, was held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2002, at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Appleton.
Mrs. Koch was born on April 13, 1935, in Clinton, Okla., to Pearl Opal (Bagwell) and August Koch. She died in Portland, Ore., on Oct. 8, 2002.
Mrs. Koch lived in Oklahoma, California and Georgia before moving to Appleton two years ago.
She enjoyed reading, crocheting and knitting, traveling, collecting art, and writing.
Surviving Mrs. Koch are her daughters Linda Voigt-Contreras, Georgia, Stephanie Haynie, Arizona, and Nancy Southern, California; son Richard Voight, California; brothers Howard Koch, Appleton, and Stan Koch, California; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
