KATHLEEN WILLIAMS
Kathleen Reynolds Williams, longtime resident of Dallesport, died at a local care facility Friday, May 31, 2002.
Mrs. Williams was born October 25, 1914, near Skamania, to Morris and Abbie (Weiser) Reynolds, the fifth of eight children and the great-granddaughter of Chief Tumulth of the Cascade Tribe. She grew up in the North Bonneville area and graduated from Stevenson High School in 1930. She attended business college in Vancouver, then was employed as a stenographer in Stevenson.
She married F. L. "Bud" Williams in White Salmon on June 9, 1935, to begin her career as a homemaker. They lived in various communities -- Stevenson, Mill A Flat, and Goldendale. The couple operated a small hay and cattle farm at Dallesport since 1963. She was later employed as the laboratory secretary at the Goldendale Aluminum Plant.
She was a longtime member of the Columbia Grange, serving as secretary for many years. She was a member of Rebekah Lodge and Klickitat County Women's Democratic Club in Goldendale, Lyle Grange Auxiliary, and an enrolled member of the Yakama Nation.
She is survived by her six children including Juanita Neitling, The Dalles, Robert Williams, Dallesport, Sharleen Stroyan, Oak Harbor, Marsha Williams, Gig Harbor, Leslie Washuta, Belvidere, N.J., and Linda Foley, Seattle; and 15 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Her husband, Bud, her parents, her seven brothers and sisters, and one granddaughter preceded her in death.
Funeral services was held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, June 4, 2002, at Gardner Chapel in Stevenson. Interment will follow at Cascade Indian and Pioneer Cemetery at North Bonneville.

KENNETH MURPHY
Kenneth Emery Murphy, 88, The Dalles, Ore., died on June 13, 2002, in The Dalles.
He was born in Woodland, Maine, on April 3, 1914, to Charles and Leviney (Knowlten) Murphy. In 1954, Mr. Murphy moved to Hood River, Ore. from Maine and worked as a cannery foreman at Diamond Fruit for 25 years.
He enjoyed outdoor activities, such as hunting, camping and fishing. Mr. Murphy was also a rock hound who did lapidary work -- making jewelry out of natural rock. He was a hard worker, and a member of the Jehovah's Witness Hood River Congregation.
Mr. Murphy is survived by his stepson Don Criss, White Salmon.; stepdaughters Shirley Sawyer, Ridgefield, and Marilyn Rasmussen, Portland, Ore; sons Dick Murphy, Las Vegas, Nev., Kenneth Murphy, Jr., Pendleton, Ore., and Ron Murphy of Colorado; sisters Kathleen and Elizabeth; and numerous grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 22, 2002, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Hood River with a graveside service at 4 p.m. at the Mt. Adams Cemetery in Glenwood.
