Some of the oldest families of the area were entertained with a presentation of "If These Walls Could Talk" hosted by The Twin Bridges Museum with Barbara Mills as the hidden narrator. As one of the first buildings in Lyle, it was very enlightening and interesting to hear Lyle's history (either verbal from lifetime residents or documented facts) from its "eyes" on the hill, from the beginning to present day. To extend the entertainment each attendee participated by taking turns describing their personal story of how, when and why their families came to be here. The evening was such a success that there are already plans for future repeated performances.
Information from a reliable source stated that David Elkins declared that he is retiring from Skyline's Board of Commissioners and encouraged spreading the word, as Skyline will be looking to replace him. This source and I thought it might be nice to have another Lyle person on the board to represent this neck of the woods. What say you, readers? Got anyone out there that might feel they have what it takes to fill his shoes? Perhaps a visit to the hospital for an application will give you a foot in the door to this opportunity.
