Mosier-ites unite! That might be interpreted as an official call from Mosier City Councilwoman Kathy Fitzpatrick with regards to possible upcoming changes for the small town.
On May 5 from 5:30-8:30 p.m., residents of the picturesque town will be meeting to discuss possible uses of the Union Pacific Railroad parcel within the city limits of Mosier that is about to be acquired.
Residents will gather to evaluate uses for the land, located on the north side of Highway 30, between the town and the Columbia River and adjacent to Mosier Creek.
Possibilities under consideration include a bike and pedestrian bridge across Mosier Creek; bringing more jobs to town through land development; a sustainable greenhouse business; a scientific vocational program and anything else residents wish to discuss.
Through this first meeting, the community will begin to develop a key document that is required for the public land acquisition process.
The workshop is for anyone who calls Mosier home - not just those within the city limits. The meeting will be held at the Mosier Senior Center at 500 E. Second St.
