Local author Craig Danner will be reading from his latest book, The Fires of Edgarville, at the White Salmon Valley Community Library on Saturday, Oct. 3, at 1 p.m. in the library's Sprint/Baker Gallery.
The public is invited to enjoy the reading and meet the author. The reading will be followed by book signing.
Tracing the evolution of a small Oregon lumber town and its connection to the Japanese internment during World War II, The Fires of Edgarville, Danner's second novel, is set in Hood River County. The authentic historical detail and the Hood River County setting result in a spellbinding story with unexpected humor.
Danner is a native Oregonian and fourth generation bootmaker. He studied creative writing at Macalester College and The Evergreen State College, and has lived and worked in Indonesia, the South Pacific, India, Nepal, Mexico and Ecuador. The author now lives with his wife and their two sons in Hood River County.
