We would like to inform anyone who was wondering – all the money they earn from selling their stuff is their profit. The money that goes to the Chidlren’s Park is the $5 fee you have to pay to get a spot.

You can fight litter
Litter! It is distressing to see the increase of litter with the valley’s growth. Litter not only adorns Highway 35 but also on every road from Hood River to Mt. Hood, every lake area, and even our gorgeous hiking trails. Residents can help by educating friends, neighbors and even employees that litter is not acceptable in our special area.
One bag of McDonald’s wrappers spread for a block, casting a pall over the land and polluting our streams and rivers. We are lucky to live in such a pristine area and we should all take pride in our beautiful suroundings. There is currently a small handful of volunteers who pick up litter. We hope to start a movement that will involve more of our neighbors.
Everyone can help; Vow never to litter, pick up litter in front of your home or business, or stuff a few tossed cans in your pocket during your hike. The removal of one can or fast food wrapper increases the appearance of that area 100 percent. If you can participate in the county’s Adopt A Highway program for your favorite road, you will increase the appearance of an even larger area. Your neighbors hope you will help us to turn the tide on litter!
