Claude McKenzie has reached a milestone of five years serving the community of Glenwood at the Glenwood General Store. Claude has been a wonderful supporter of community events and projects in addition to catering to the community's needs in his store. Oh yeah...and he'll be celebrating his 50th birthday on Friday! We hope to see you at the Klickitat County Barn to be Wild Fair and Rodeo this week. The livestock entries are fattened up and groomed to the max to live like royalty for a few days in straw-filled stalls. Still life exhibits from garden entries to foods to sewing to photography and craft items are on display for the public's viewing pleasure. A special attraction this year is the elephant ride -- with a real-live elephant! County equestrian enthusiasts will be showing off their skills in penning, sorting, branding, gaming, team roping and the show ring. Be sure to enjoy the Kick Off BBQ, the many vendors; entertainers on the Reno Stage; NPRA rodeo; parade; and to support the Livestock Market Sale.
The Klickitat Fair Board Members and volunteers work hard year-round to organize an amazing event for our entertainment, education and enjoyment. Each volunteer and fair board member deserves a big thank you for their efforts!
