The Skyline Foundation has announced an exciting, new opportunity for Skyline supporters who love quality and beautiful things.
"Art and Heirlooms" is a new way for people to support quality health care and education by purchasing and donating vintage treasures, artifacts or objets d'art.
The foundation is accepting quality pre-owned items for this unique fundraiser.
Runyan's Jewelry in White Salmon has joined the effort by generously hosting space in its store to make the donated art and heirlooms available for purchase. The inventory at this time contains mostly art and art prints, jewelry, an Oriental rug and collectibles. Manager Maria Shultz invites you to stop in Runyan's to check out the interesting collection!
Foundation coordinator Debra Reed initiated the program and patterned it after other successful fundraising activities she had conceived during her work with other charitable and non-profit organizations.
Not wanting the high overhead in obtaining a storefront, Reed envisions that the program could grow to such proportions that many area businesses would host space for this effort.
Once several businesses join in, a "Treasure Walk" brochure would entice and direct people into each host business looking for something they might treasure. This would benefit not only the foundation, but also area businesses by bringing more traffic through their doors!
Board President, Bill Whidden said "Members of the board believe that the wonderful people that Skyline serves are going to enthusiastically embrace the idea that their art and heirlooms will support the important work of the foundation."
If you wish to further the work of the foundation and have "art and heirlooms" that you would like to contribute, please call the foundation at 509-637-0696.
Certain items of high quality and value may be considered for consignment.
