This month's First Friday in Hood River promises to be full of visual and audio treats, with numerous businesses and artists participating throughout downtown.
Some of the art on display this month includes: Sue Tuttle, ceramics; Tracey Kellogg, lampwork beads and jewelry; blown glass by Charlene Fort; chocolate tasting; Richard Hallman, photographer; sculptures by Brenda Mallory; Heather Hopkins, photographer; digital art by Joan Chase; K&D Woodworking; Longshadow Photography; pastel paintings by Barbara Murphy; Eichorn, contemporary designer of colored stones; Cathleen Rehfeld, oils and pastels; sculptor Cheryl Hall; photography by Jules Fraizer; jewelry by Jennifer Kamalei Anderson; Ethan Radcliff, mural artist; Sarah Morton-Erasmus, jewelry; and much more.
This month's show at the Columbia Art Gallery features Judith Cunningham and Valerie Gogoleski. Waucoma Bookstore will host a book signing by local author George Ing.
Music samplings to be enjoyed include Didgeridoo music by George Knehr, Charles Crosman, and Larry Russ.
Enjoy the Artist's Street Fair located on Oak Street between Front and 1st Streets, where vendors and musicians will be set up to offer you additional evening art, entertainment and merchandise.
The Oak Street closure will once again be in effect for the September First Friday. Oak Street between Front and 1st and 2nd and 6th Streets will be closed for traffic during First Friday events. Cascade and State Street will be open both directions for traffic flow through the downtown corridor. Second Street will remain open to travel north and south.
