A new Wishram-based animal rescue service, Dogs of the Gorge (DOG), is offering pet spay/neuter services and other assistance for area residents.
According to Lisa Mabrey, owner of the service, DOG is offering to help the people of Klickitat County with spaying and neutering, helping provide dog or cat food, and finding new homes for dogs.
"We also will take strays and get them spayed and neutered and put them up for adoption," Mabrey said. "I really need help getting the word out that we are here and want to help. We are helping Goldendale, and they have an 11-kennel shelter, and we are also asking for foster homes. The shelter is very small and can't hold very many dogs and that is why foster homes are so important."
