Community members in Klickitat County will have the opportunity to learn more about the new 2-1-1 health and human services information and referral line at an upcoming public forum.
The forum will be held at 9 a.m. on July 25, at the White Salmon Pioneer Center.
The forum will feature a presentation on the basic idea of 2-1-1 and details on delivery of the service.
Agencies that provide social services or health and human services will have the chance to learn more about how 2-1-1 can benefit them, and verify their representation in the database.
The forum is open to the public and all community members are encouraged to attend.
Attendees will also have the chance to ask any question they may have about the service.
2-1-1 is a free three-digit phone number designed to help community members find a wide range of community service and social service options.
Nationally, 2-1-1 is an initiative of the United Way and the Alliance of Information and Referral Systems; it is administered in Central Washington by the nonprofit agency People For People.
