The Discovery Center and Museum will host its third annual Historic Halloween Wednesday, Oct. 31, from 7 to 9 p.m.
Children will have the opportunity to trick-or-treat through the Wasco County Street Scene, meeting historical characters along the way. For those brave of heart, haunting tours of the Discovery Center exhibits will be offered. The event will also include spooky stories told by the campfire and Halloween movies shown in the M.J. Murdock Theater.
New to this year's event will be a costume parade through the River Gallery. Prizes will be given for the most original, historical, and spooky costume.
There is no admission charge, but a suggested donation of $2.50 per family is appreciated.
"We are thrilled to be hosting our third Historic Halloween," said Beth Kirschhofer, Public Programs coordinator. "We have had such a positive response to this event, with an average of 500 children attending each year. We hope this will continue to be a way for children to have a safe Halloween, become familiar with people from our past, and develop a love of history."
