Owned and operated by Craig and Kelly Sawyer of White Salmon, North Shore Wine Cellars is located at the site of the Bad Seed Cider tasting room in downtown Bingen.
The winery has purchased the Bad Seed brand from Wind River Cellars and will continue to produce those products, as well as their own wines.
Having been involved in Bad Seed Cider for several years, the couple has gotten to know the products well. When the opportunity to purchase the brand arose the couple jumped at the chance.
"We enjoy hard cider and plan to grow the brand," says Kelly Sawyer. "The Portland area is clamoring for a new cider, we can't wait to get them there."
Hard cider is enjoying a new wave of popularity and the couple plans to capitalize on that.
With the purchase of the Bad Seed brand, North Shore Wine Cellars will also acquire the Eve's Temptation brand of dessert wines.
"With the success of the Eve's Temptation apple ice-style wine we knew we had to create more flavors," says Craig Sawyer.
The couple is preparing to release the next dessert wine mid-April and round out the product line with grape wines as well.
Visitors are welcome to the tasting room from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursday thru Monday.
