Mildred Nichols

Mildred Irene Nichols, age 79, a resident of The Dalles, Ore., passed away Aug. 25, 2017, at a local care facility. Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 9 at Spencer Libby & Powell Funeral Home, with graveside services to follow at 3:30 p.m. at the Dufur Cemetery. Spencer Libby & Powell Funeral Home is in care of the arrangements.

Donald Benton

Donald “Don” Lee Benton of Hood River, Ore., passed away Aug. 29, 2017, at Providence Hood River Medical Center. Don was born Dec. 31, 1948, and was 68 years of age at the time of his passing.The family appreciates all the love and support from the community and their respect for honoring Don’s wishes in having his memorial service at Anderson’s Tribute Center. Robert Frizzell

Robert Norman Frizzell of Mt. Hood, Ore., passed away Aug. 31, 2017, at his home with family by his side. Norman was born Aug. 12, 1936, and was 81 years of age at the time of his passing. Services are planned for 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 9 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1825 May St., Hood River. Burl Bond Jr.

Burl Bond Jr. of The Dalles, Ore., passed away Aug. 17, 2017, at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) in Portland, Ore. Burl was born March 26, 1937, and was 80 years of age at the time of his passing.

A celebration of life for Burl will be held at the Hood River Hotel, 102 Oak St., Hood River, at noon on Saturday, Sept. 2.

Roland Solberg

Roland “Andy” Andrew Solberg of Hood River, Ore., passed away on Aug. 20, 2017, at his home surrounded by friends and family. Roland was born Jan. 31, 1956, in Longview, Wash., and was 61 years of age at the time of his passing. James Krum

James “Hank” Krum of The Dalles, Ore., went home to be with our Lord, Jesus Christ, on August 24, 2017, with family at his side. James was born on May 19, 1927, and was 90 years of age at the time of his passing. A private celebration of life, per his request, will be held on Sept. 2 and will be officiated by his grandson, Pastor Alex Krum. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project at www.woundedwarriorproject.org, which Hank and Ann support.
