Ashley Kay Carter and Hup Alfred Streich Jr., both of Hood River, have announced their engagement. They will be married July 4 in Parkdale.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Dennis M. Carter and Tracy and Lazaro Villa, all of Hood River. She is a 2004 graduate of Hood River Valley High School.
