Riverhawk swimmers taking center stage

The Dalles swimmer Andrew Clifford takes part in the breaststroke event in high school varsity action. At the Hood River Aquatic Center, The Dalles Swim Team showed its overall skill and grit with solid finishes from Natalie Varland, Andrew Clifford, Molly Nelson and Peter Cardosi leading both the boys and girls to ninth place team outputs.

Varland picked up The Dalles’ lone victory of the day in the 100-yard Breaststroke, touching the wall in a brisk one minute and 18.84 seconds, besting her closest opponent, La Grande’s Abbey Tweten, by more than two seconds (1:21.59).
