A dinosaur has been spotted in The Dalles. The gas station at 801 E. Third Street, which used to be under the Shell banner, has been “rebranded” as a Sinclair station. According to Terry Turner, product and development coordinator for Hattenhauer Distributing Company, the parent firm, the transformation came about for several reasons: Sinclair is a family-owned business, which Hattenhauer ownership finds “refreshing” to work with; Sinclair has won major industry safety awards; offers a strong and expanding petroleum footprint; and is American-owned and operated. Turner added that Sinclair’s dinosaur mascot is a big hit as well. “He is kind of cool,” Turner said.
