Petition started to get Green rehired

“Right from the get-go I was unhappy about the decision, especially, at least from my perspective, the lack of transparency,” Morgan said. “There hasn’t been anything.

“I don’t feel like Scott got a fair hearing. I don’t know all the details. And that’s part of why I’m frustrated. I don’t know all the details. How do you go from glowing reviews to fired?”

Morgan said he was inspired to circulate the petition after the terminated Mosier fire chief was offered his job back after citizens complained.

Morgan first met Green through local theater, and was one of the people who gave a reference for Green when he first sought the job as executive director.

“In the time I’ve known him, he’s been a man of honor and integrity,” Morgan said.

By this morning, he had lined up another person to also circulate the petition. His goal is to get “as many signatures as I can” and then present them to the parks board.
