Clermont is first-team all-league in girls soccer

HOOD RIVER — Senior Magnolia Clermont was a first-team selection to the 2025 Northwest Oregon Conference girls soccer all-league team, and she was one of nine Hood River Valley players recognized in the voting by conference coaches.
The nine players represented attested to the team’s depth. The Eagles, led by Coach Kevin Haspela and his assistants Vanessa Silva and Dameon Solorzano, finished the season with a 6-2 Northwest Oregon Conference record and the league’s No. 3 seed in the playoffs. Hood River finished in a three-way tie for second with La Salle Prep and Putnam — behind NWOC champion Wilsonville. It was HRV’s highest finish in the conference girls soccer standings in the four years it has been part of the NWOC.
Three HRV players earned second team status: forwards Josie Faaborg and Lily Clermont, both sophomores, and freshman midfielder Ellie Kinsfogel. Honorable mention went to junior forward Keira Brennan; senior defenders Jenica Rigert, Hazel Haspela, and Izabella Galvez; and senior goalkeeper Valeria Miramontes.
Silverton ended Hood River Valley’s season in the first round of the Class 5A state playoffs Nov. 4, when the host Silver Foxes beat the Eagles, 7-1. HRV finished 2025 with a 10-5-1 record.
Magnola Clermont was a second team pick in 2024, while Faaborg, Miramontes, Lily Clermont, and Haspela earned honorable mention awards a season ago.
