The Dalles boys’ golf team had its four-tournament win streak snapped Thursday at the Pendleton Invitational, placing third overall in an eight-team field at Pendleton Country Club.

The Dufur Rangers slugged out 19 runs on 25 hits to complete a two-game sweep over Culver Friday in Blue Mountain Conference baseball action in Culver. The wins help seal third place and a district berth. Dufur won the first game, 4-1, and took the nightcap, 15-4. Monday at Dufur City Park, the Rangers won their fourth straight game, 21-9, over 3A Riverside. Dufur (9-13, 6-6 league) heads to Union for two games starting at 11 a.m. Saturday. MT. BACHELOR, Ore. — Hood River snowboarder and Olympic hopeful Anton Pogue inched closer to a spot on the 2002 U.S. Olympic team by winning the first parallel giant slalom qualifying event Jan. 4 at Mt. Bachelor.
