Defense reigns for Lady Rangers

HOOD RIVER – On a night when offense was tough to come by, the No. 13-ranked Dufur Rangers used its stifling defense to hold upset-minded Horizon Christian at bay. Down 15-12 at halftime, the Lady Rangers held Horizon Christian without a field goal for the final 18 minutes and used runs of 11-0 and 10-2 to score a 33-17 win Saturday in a Big Sky Conference matchup played in Hood River.

Some of the biggest names in Dufur Ranger volleyball history have hoisted trophies, shared great moments and have been recognized with all-league and all-state awards. Dufur seniors Taylor Darden and Montana Ferres are a part of that esteemed group of athletes.
