John and Suze Nigl celebrate 50th anniversary

John and Suze Nigl were married Aug. 26, 1967, in San Jose, Calif., where they spent their first year of marriage. They moved to Fresno in 1968 so John could attend Fresno State College on the GI Bill. He worked nights at the county library while Suze worked as a legal secretary. John received his degree in business administration in 1972 and a few weeks later they moved to Hood River.

‘Christmas Décor and More’ sale at HR Valley Christian

It can be a great feeling to deck the halls early and be ready for Christmas ahead of time. Plan now to shop at the annual “Pre-Christmas Sale” at Hood River Valley Christian Church, 975 Indian Creek Road. The doors will be open Saturday, Nov. 5 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 6 from noon to 3 p.m.
