The Hood River Valley High School Speech and Debate team won second place in the 5A Division at the OSAA State Championship last weekend. Hood River entered 19 students, including 10 seniors, in the competition held at Western Oregon University.

Hood River Valley High School Speech Team members traveled to Linfield College in McMinnville last weekend for the Singletary Invitational Tournament.

Junior Ruby Patterson made it to the final round of Open Prose and won second place in Open Oratory as Hood River Valley High School Speech and Debate team competed in the Robert D. Clark Invitational tournament at the University of Oregon Feb. 18-19.
