Fired Parks and Recreation Director Scott Green filed a complaint with the Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries Nov. 7, alleging violations of his civil rights.
In a busy meeting Wednesday night, the parks board first received a petition with 89 signatures seeking the reinstatement of Scott Green as director, then was told a recall effort would begin against the three members who voted for his ouster.
To the editor: The Northern Wasco County Parks and Recreation District was wrong in firing Scott Green without cause. I'm asking everyone to show up at their next meeting on Wednesday November 19th at 5:30 p.m. at the Parks and Rec office, 114 Washington St. Please show up to support Scott, we need to make the board accountable for their actions.
The Northern Wasco County Parks & Recreation District board voted to terminate the contract of its longtime executive director, Scott Green. Nikki Lesich, Catherine Whalen and Travis Dray voted in favor of terminating the contract, while Dean Dollarhide and Marcus Denney voted against it. Green said the close vote to terminate him after nine years on the job “raised a lot of eyebrows” in the parks district.
Local Realtor Dennis Morgan started circulating a petition Wednesday to get Scott Green’s job back as head of Northern Wasco County Parks & Recreation District.
