Hood River softball loses to rival Riverhawks, just misses playoff spot

Having home-field advantage in a May 17 Intermountain Conference doubleheader, plus having the additional inspiration provided by a Senior Night ceremony, seemed to be near-perfect circumstances for the Hood River Valley to get a playoff-clinching victory over Gorge rival The Dalles.

Steve Noteboom and his coaching staff have the pieces in place to build a competitive basketball team at Hood River Valley High. Time and patience will be among the necessities for them to accomplish that goal, especially in what appears to be an improved Intermountain Conference and in a COVID-shortened season.
