THE DALLES — The Dalles Art Center (TDAC) is proud to present “Mark Nilsson: 50 Years of Art,” a special exhibition celebrating the remarkable artistic journey of one of the Columbia Gorge’s most recognizable painters. Combining a retrospective of works spanning five decades with an exciting collection of new paintings, the exhibition offers visitors a rare opportunity to experience the evolution of an artist whose vibrant use of color and unmistakable style have become synonymous with the landscapes of the Pacific Northwest.

WHITE SALMON — A colorful new mural in the heart of White Salmon’s city center is grabbing well-deserved attention. Painted by Gorge artists Mary Garcia and Angela LoJacono, the 1,800 square foot south wall of the Everybody’s Brewing building at 177 E. Jewett Blvd., previously bland gray, is now adorned with a rainbow splash of artistry.
THE DALLES — Abstract clusters of amorphous shapes and vibrant hues, rendered on canvas by watercolor and pen, hung throughout The Dalles Art Center (TDAC) on June 11, where Lyle-based artists Brielle Lefebvre and Jason Breeden shared insights into their ongoing exhibition “Kaleidoscopia.”
HOOD RIVER — Artists and art enthusiasts alike gathered for vino and visitation at Cathedral Ridge Winery (CRW) on Jan. 15, where oil paintings, sculptures, quilts and more line a rustic interior. The afternoon meet-and-greet, assembling members of the Columbia Gorge Artist League (CGAL), offered guests an up-close encounter with the 11 creatives featured in the winery’s winter showcase, which runs through Feb. 12.
THE DALLES — Stop by Yvonne’s Art Studio on Oct. 17 at 5-7 p.m. for an exhibition of works by artist Jack Brummel. The display, featuring wood prints on handmade paper, explores the intersections of the ancient paper-making craft, ink impressions of cut wood and abstraction.
THE DALLES — Get your paintbrushes ready. The Watercolor Society of Oregon (WSO) is coming to The Dalles Art Center (TDAC) on Oct. 3, initiating a month-long exhibition celebrating and teaching the beauty and versatility of a niche art form.
