The Dufur High Lady Rangers girls golf team, guided by Coach Travis Kane, capped an undefeated season at 5-0 after winning the four-team Burns Invitational tourney May 14 at Valley Golf Club in Burns. Dufur shot a team score of 440 to finish ahead of Nyssa, Vale and Burns.
DUFUR – Parker Wallace placed first in the Novice Male division, Jessica Elam had a top-10 finish, and the duo of Peyton Neal and Hunter Wagenblast ended up tied for 16th place to lead the Dufur Clay Target Team at the Oregon State High School Clay Target League Tournament held on June 22 at the Hillsboro Trap and Skeet Club.
DUFUR – Competing against parents and Dufur High School student athletes, Dufur School District principal Leo Baptiste claimed two victories in six heats of Annie Oakley competition. Baptiste joined the Dufur High School clay target team and their parents for a barbecue potluck and competition on the property of Stan Ashbrook in what lead advisor Robert Wallace said was a family fun day for the kids ahead of state competition on Saturday, June 23 in Hillsboro.
DUFUR – Of the eight Dufur Ranger shooters, Peyton Neal and Kyler Powell stood tall under the pressure and under the sweltering 98-degree weather. Neal and Powell each claimed second place to lead Dufur High School at the Oregon High School Clay Target State Tournament last weekend at the Hillsboro Trap and Skeet Club in Hillsboro.
