Capping off the best season in the history of the HRV girls lacrosse program, the Eagles finished their playoff run Wednesday night in Wilsonville with a 7-4 defeat of the Newberg Tigers to win the first-ever Oregon Girls Lacrosse Association Navy bracket championship.

Facing a one-goal deficit at the half, the HRV girls lacrosse team didn’t seem worried. Players smiled as they trotted back to the sideline for a pep talk from Head Coach Andrew McElderry and Assistant Coach Bekah Rottenberg. Players swayed back and forth to Neil Diamond’s “Sweet Caroline” that was pumped out from the speakers at Henderson Community Stadium.

They may not have been able to catch Oregon Episcopal School in the Portland League lacrosse standings, but the Eagle girls continued to put more distance between themselves and other teams in the league this Friday after rolling Cleveland for the second time this season.
