SALEM — Lobbying is largely synonymous with interest groups, but every year, government agencies big and small spend money to amplify their interests at the Capitol.
Nathan Nañez, a senior at The Dalles High School, attended a lobby day in Salem with three other students — two from Coquille School District and one from Redmond High School — to meet with legislators and discuss state funding in education.
The Hood River Aquatic Center is holding on for dear life as the infrastructure, that still has many of its parts from the original structure that was built in 1948, is in need of a revival.
Through the refinancing of 2007 general obligation bonds in August 2017, Klickitat County Hospital District No. 2 obtained $5 million in additional financing for planned capital projects at Skyline Hospital.

To the editor: I’m mystified by Roz Luther’s letter of July 10 concerning the Supreme Court’s ruling in favor of Hobby Lobby. She describes it as “another chink in the armor of contraceptive opportunities…” Huh?
